Big shifts happen when you claim your identity which includes:
Reclaiming your name
Honouring your experiences and how they impacted you
Owning your story
Learning how you operate
Becoming comfortable in operating from your moral compass
Taking accountability for the direction of your life even though you may have been dealt an incredibly difficult set of circumstances
These shifts are rarely huge life changing moments. They are often micro moments that you may not even realise have been building, until suddenly, after momentum, the big shift happens. The opportunities present and manifest.
It is important to remember that in the same way that life can come crashing down on us through the build-up of neglect, hardship, moments of being chipped away at and dimmed, the opposite is true as a new set of circumstances are navigated. Another important awareness to take into consideration is that all we try to run from catches up with us eventually. The things we attempt to put to the back of our minds. The emotions we try to numb in any way believing that we are making life more bearable. Numbing these emotions is done in many ways, from self-medicating with drugs and alcohol, through to spiritual bypassing and isolation from the world. What we avoid to face will always represent in one form or another until integration is in process. The process can take days, weeks, months or years, as can the periods of respite.
We may forget the universal laws of energy in cause and effect, but something somewhere is keeping a balance. The balance does not always swing in our favour when we want or need it to, but it does always swing; the good, the bad and the ugly. What we do to ourselves, what we do to others and what we receive from others has a way of correction. The thoughts, as well as the action.
When we least expect things to happen, they happen, but not while we're actively in a waiting period of expectation. Something can go significantly wrong, and then something can go significantly well. What do we really have a say in? We are governed by the laws of the land which are man-made. We are governed by the laws of physics, the natural flow of energy.
The only thing we have control over is our reaction to any life event, emotion or choice in any given moment. Feeling restriction in any way is usually very uncomfortable and difficult to navigate. The restriction of finances, health, legislation, it will ultimately have a big impact on the stress response of our nervous systems.
It’s how we respond to our limitations that affect the trajectory of our paths.
